About Pat and Donlu
We're a couple of empty-nester moms, neighbors who decided to go into business for ourselves. We both have a bunch of grown children who decided to buy instead of rent while attending college or working in various places across the country. After all, interest rates are the lowest they've been in forty years! It has never been a better time to be a young person starting out in life. With the children raised, we both "re-entered" the workforce. One of us went back to teaching, but the other one started selling creative real estate coaching. Which is how we found out that although our children did well when they bought their first homes, if they had known a little bit more, they might have done better. This much we've learned over and over in life, and we're sure you've learned it, too: Knowledge is the key to success. Let us share our knowledge about home-buying with you! Testimonials "We never even thought about buying when we moved away for our new jobs. We looked everywhere for a decent rental, but it was all the same. Dumps. The condo they found for us wasn't in terrific condition, either, but it was in a great location, and was available for an amazing price. Even at that incredibly low price--$62,500--we never dreamed we could actually own the place. Amazingly, however, we qualified for the loan! We moved in and started making payments that were about the same as we would have paid in rent. And the place was ours! We could fix it up any way we wanted. And we did. Now, we're ready to move on, and without even really trying, we have three interested buyers who are willing to pay market value--which just happens to be more than TWICE what we paid. Sure, we spent a little fixing it up. But to go from $62,500 to $149,00! Not bad in two years! We're off to graduate school with money in the bank instead of memories of landlords and twenty-four rent checks down the drain!" --Marc & Angi "It was scary, standing outside the mortgage company, waiting to hear if we had qualitifed for the loan. It's a college town, they told us. The market will always be good. But we're just a couple of kids in our early twenties, newly married and both in school in a town 3,000 miles away from home. We thought maybe we should just back out and rent a place after all. But we were tired of looking, and we kept thinking about that little house, and how we would fix up that back bedroom for a study, or a nursery eventually, and then the loan officer said we'd made it, and so here we are. In our own place, decorating it bit by bit. We even planted tomatoes! After a hard day at school, it's good to have space, and some peace and quiet." --James & Liz "You should see what we've done to this place. It's just US. It's so fun, and you can hang a picture or slap on some paint without getting some landlord's permission." --Kate & Jonathan "We're frustrated, renting. It's a total waste, but with full-time school and part-time jobs, we can't afford the time to look around, and we can't afford anything more than the best bargain in town. Help!" --Chris & Genn |
